In 2017, Massachusetts enacted An Act Relative to Advancing Contraceptive Coverage and Economic Security in our State (ACCESS), which allows:

  • Providers to prescribe a 12-month supply of no-cost birth control all at once
  • No-cost emergency contraception to eligible patients. 

Course Overview

This course was developed by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH), in collaboration with Reproductive Equity Now Foundation (REN), and with support from the Office of Continuing and Professional Development (CPD) at MGH Institute of Health Professions (IHP). The MA Department of Public Health is covering the cost of the course for an extended period.

Ideal for Massachusetts providers and pharmacists who prescribe and/or dispense birth control and emergency contraception pills. This includes physicians, physician assistants/associates, nurse practitioners, and pharmacists.
