Susan E. Fasoli, ScD, OTR/L, is a Professor Emerita of Occupational Therapy in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences.

Dr. Fasoli’s research has focused on the use of rehabilitation technologies to evaluate and treat persons with stroke. She has worked closely with engineers and neuroscientists on the design and implementation of robot-assisted therapy for adults and children with upper limb impairments due to stroke and cerebral palsy. Dr. Fasoli is a member of the BrainGate2 team at the Center for Neurorestoration and Neurotechnology (CfNN) at the Providence VA Medical Center and Brown University, where she has provided an OT perspective to research that involves control of an assistive robot via brain-computer interface. Her most recent pilot studies have investigated the effects of robot-assisted therapy and cognitive strategy training for individuals with stroke. 

Dr. Fasoli is an active member of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) and the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine (ACRM). She co-chairs the interprofessional ACRM Stroke ISIG Movement Interventions Task Force. She has served as a section editor for the Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and is a peer reviewer for several professional journals. During the summer months, she enjoys kayaking, hiking, and sailing with family and friends.
