Sarah McKinnon, OT, OTD, OTR, BCPR, MPA, FAOTA, FNAP is an Associate Professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy and is the founding Program Director for the Post-Professional Doctor of Occupational Therapy program at the MGH Institute of Health Professions. The curriculum is the first Post-Professional OTD program to offer programming related to justice, equity, diversity and inclusion and is the first PP-OTD program with an interprofessional focus as it shares curriculum with the Institute’s SLP-D program.
Dr. McKinnon received her doctoral degree from Boston University, earning an additional Master of Public Administration from Roger Williams University with a specialization in health care administration. She obtained her Board Certification in Physical Rehabilitation from the American Occupational Therapy Association. In 2022, she was awarded her Fellow distinction from the American Occupational Therapy Association (FAOTA).
A member of Mass General Brigham HealthCare since 2011, Dr. McKinnon continues to be involved in clinical practice and scholarship at Massachusetts General Brigham organization. She currently serves as Government Representative for the Massachusetts Association for Occupational Therapy (MAOT) and has also served on the Board of Directors for the American Occupational Therapy Association Political Action Committee (AOTPAC).
