May Chin is a graduate of the Massachusetts General Hospital’s School of Nursing and sits on the Board of the MGH Nurses’ Alumnae Association. 

She also earned a master’s in nursing administration and an MBA. She held inpatient and ambulatory care leadership positions in medical centers in the Boston area and in Canada.

She and her husband, Tom, have created several endowed scholarships for the MGH Institute’s School of Nursing as well as naming the Ruth Sleeper Nursing Center for Education and Wellness at the Sanders IMPACT Practice Center.  

May has dedicated her life to the field of nursing, living by the quotation of her mentor Ruth Sleeper, the long-time director of the hospital’s former nursing school “Always, always more to see, more to learn, more to do…to improve both care and cure.”
