Marziye Eshghi, PhD, is Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Speech and Feeding Disorders Lab.
Eshghi obtained her PhD in Speech and Hearing Sciences at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, School of Medicine, in 2018. She also holds a PhD in Linguistics with specific focus on language development, experimental phonology, and speech and language disorders. Her research interests are neural control of speech production and perception, speech motor control in neurodegenerative diseases, as well as speech disorders due to structural abnormalities such as cleft palate and other craniofacial anomalies.
She has been recognized as the recipient of several prestigious and highly competitive awards including 1st place student paper award from the Acoustical Society of America in spring 2016 meeting, New Century Scholars Doctoral Scholarship from American Speech-Language-Hearing Foundation, Karlind T. Moller Scholarship for Speech Pathology/Audiology Students, David P. Kuehn Speech Scholarship from Cleft Palate Foundation, and DAHS Student Research Ambassador Award from UNC-CH school of Medicine. She has been the author or co-author of several peer-reviewed journal articles.
