Joan Parise, MS, RN, ANP is the Director of Clinical Affiliations and an Instructor, School of Nursing. She has extensive clinical experience in adult general medicine, intensive care, primary care, and cardiology. As an NP she specialized in advanced heart failure and transplant, quality improvement, and clinical education.
Joan played an integral role in the development of several multidisciplinary heart failure programs in Boston area academic medical centers. She has led numerous clinical education programs, as well as quality and process improvement initiatives which positively impacted targeted heart failure and CMS outcome measures and readmissions. She holds certificates in Clinical Microsystems Improvement from Dartmouth Medical School and from the National Heart Failure Training Program. Joan is an active member of the Heart Failure Society of America and a charter member of the American Association of Heart Failure Nurses.
Additional interests include preventive cardiology, heart disease in women, cardiac rhythm management, palliative care, senior care, and holistic health care. She was certified in Therapeutic Touch through the Boston College School of Nursing.
Joan joined the IHP in 2019. In addition to her role as Director of Clinical Affiliations, she teaches clinical and theory courses in the Advanced Practice Nursing Program. She also serves as a preceptor for NP students at the IHP IMPACT Center Primary Care clinic.
