Anne W. Thompson, PT, EdD

Anne Thompson is Adjunct Faculty in the Master of Health Professions Education (MS-HPEd) and PhD in Health Professions Education Programs in the School of Healthcare Leadership at MGH Institute of Health Professions.
Prior to her academic career, Dr. Thompson held leadership positions in clinical and corporate rehabilitation organizations. At Armstrong State University (now Georgia Southern University), she served as the Chair of the Rehabilitation Sciences Department and Director of the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. Additionally, she served as Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs (2010-2012), and Interim Dean of the College of Health Professions (2014-2015 and 2017). She chaired the university-wide process for reaffirmation of accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). She is a charter member of the physical therapy faculty, retiring from Georgia Southern University/Armstrong Campus as Chair and Associate Professor Emerita. She has served as an accreditation site visitor for SACSCOC and as a reviewer/consultant for multiple clinical and academic accreditations.
She currently serves on the Georgia State Board of Physical Therapy and is a delegate to the Physical Therapy Compact Commission. She chairs the Continuing Competence Committee of the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy. She is also a Board Member and Research Chair of the Georgia Foundation for Physical Therapy.
