This is your network

You are part of a group of individuals spanning across the United States and around the globe. The Institute graduated its first masters degree student in 1983. Since then, more than 10,000 individuals have received the distinguished honor of being an IHP alum.

In a myriad of settings, our alums are treating and educating patients, researching new methodologies, and teaching the next generation of healthcare professionals. When you click on one of the map pins you will see the number of alums living in that state as well as a representation of the degrees completed.

Using the Network

Connecting with the IHP alumni network is a task you can work on each day as a way of building your own professional network. You have a long career ahead of you, so you never know when a contact might be able to help you and you them, of course. The network can help with more than just job searches - it can aid you when moving to a new city, learning from common work experiences and goals or deciding where and how to continue your education.

If you are feeling unsure how to connect with the IHP alumni community or would prefer to have the Alumni Office reach out on your behalf, feel free to alumni [at] mghihp.edu (email us.) Include:

  • Your name
  • Class year
  • Discipline
  • Reason that you want to connect to an IHP alum

Once your email is received the Alumni Office will go to work to find possible matches for you. When matches are found, the Alumni Office will reach out to ask the alum if it is okay for you to connect. When approval is given from the alum, the Alumni Office will send an e-introduction to the two of you. In the message, you will be asked to make contact first. You can plan a phone or Zoom call or even meet in person if you are geographically close to each other.
