Sunny Winstead, EdD, OTR/L is an Assistant Professor for the Department of Occupational Therapy's Post-Professional OTD program in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at MGH Institute of Health Professions.

Dr. Winstead holds a BA in English Literature and Rhetoric from Binghamton University, an MS in Occupational Therapy from Virginia Commonwealth University, and an EdD in Educational Leadership from the University of New England, where her dissertation focused on competency development in community-based occupational therapy.

Dr. Winstead is an experienced OT educator and practitioner. Her background includes adult clinical practice, management and supervision, program consultation and development, private practice, and academia. She is a member of AOTA and serves on the editorial review board for the Open Journal of Occupational Therapy.

Dr. Winstead has both personal and scholarly interest in the development of academic writing competencies. She loves to work collaboratively with students to build their skills for literature synthesis and appraisal, peer review, and manuscript development.
