Rachel Cox, DNP, FNP-BC
Dr. Rachel Cox, DNP, FNP-BC is an assistant professor in the School of Nursing at MGH Institute of Health Professions. Dr. Cox teaches in the Prelicensure Program. She is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner.
Dr. Cox practices at a primary care clinic that largely serves adult patients of low-socioeconomic status. She also cares for the complex health needs of a vulnerable population of substance users in recovery at an intensive residential program.
In addition to patient care, she serves as the Clinical Director at the clinic and her work in this role focuses on policy development, education, and clinical quality improvement.
Dr. Cox has a passion for clinical instruction and recognizes that nursing education is a crucial component of nursing leadership. She earned a Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) in May 2020 and her doctoral work focused on contraception education.
She has a special interest in infectious disease, epidemiology, women’s health, and substance abuse.
