Department of Physical Therapy
Welcome from the Chair
Innovation. Excellence. Leadership. Three words that capture our department’s traditions and aspirations. These features are embedded throughout our academic and scholarly activities and lived by our faculty and students.
Our Doctor of Physical Therapy Program [1] prepares physical therapists to be successful practitioners and leaders in complex and evolving health care systems. To accomplish this goal, we emphasize critical thinking and clinical decision making, collaborative team-based care, and lifelong learning.
Our Residency in Orthopaedic PT [2] provides clinicians a path to orthopedic specialization and advanced practice. Residents develop expertise in orthopaedic practice and research working with mentors within our clinical partnerships, Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Spaulding Rehabilitation Centers, and beyond with our outstanding community sites.
Our faculty are leaders, innovators, and scholars. We strive to prepare our students to be the best practitioners of tomorrow. Join us in the historic Navy Yard of Boston, home to the U.S.S. Constitution and Boston Freedom Trail, and begin your journey to become tomorrow’s physical therapist.
