Dr. Zipse studies language and other aspects of cognition in adults with acquired brain injury, with a particular focus on the timing of cognitive processes.

Current projects address the following questions:

  1. How are executive processes central to learning disrupted in adults who have experienced a traumatic brain injury (TBI)?
  2. Why is processing rhythm difficult for some people with aphasia?
  3. Which aspects of music-based therapies for aphasia are particularly beneficial?
