Daniel Irimia, MD, PhD
Dr. Irimia is Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital, Shriners Burns Hospital, and Harvard Medical School and Lecturer for Statistics in the Online Prerequisites at the Institute.
He is leading a research laboratory focused on studying the role of cell migration in health and disease. He is interested in understanding how white blood cells protect us against microbes, and how their function is disrupted after burns and trauma injuries. For his research, he is employing the most advanced nano- and micro-scale technologies to measure cell migration with a better precision than ever before.
