Michael Ruggiero, MHS, PA-C
Michael is Instructor in the Department of Physician Assistant Studies, who joined the Institute in April 2014. While pursuing his undergraduate degree in Sports Medicine, he was a team athletic trainer for division I and II sports programs. He later earned a Masters Degree in Health Science and Physician Assistant Studies from Quinnipiac University.
Michael is Board Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. He is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Massachusetts Association of Physician Assistants. He is licensed to practice medicine as a physician assistant in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
His clinical interests are sports medicine, knee and shoulder injuries and occupational injuries and illness. His academic interests are focused on improving and developing educational models and methods as it relates to physician assistant training.
Prior to joining the Institute Michael was on faculty at the University of New England, and before that worked in sports medicine and orthopedic surgery, urgent care, and occupational and environmental medicine.
