Dr. Hillier joined MGH IHP faculty full-time in 2018. Prior to this, she was an Assistant Professor at the University of Rhode Island where she was a simulation educator. As a member of the Accelerated BSN faculty, Dr. Hillier has taught maternal child health, transition to practice, ethics, and simulation.

For the past 25 years, Dr. Hillier has remained active in clinical practice and holds a staff nurse position in the Medical-Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Boston Children's Hospital.  As a member of the BCH SIMPeds faculty, Dr. Hillier utilizes high-fidelity simulation to prepare newly licensed nurses for end-of-life in the PICU as well as general pediatrics for medical students in the Harvard University Medical School Clerkship program.

Dr. Hillier is a Critical Care Registered Nurse in Pediatrics (CCRN) and is also a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE).  Her areas of scholarship include high fidelity simulation, transition to practice and family-centered care in the PICU, and pediatric grief and loss.
