Master of Science in Physical Therapy for International Students
The Board of Trustees of MGH Institute of Health Professions has voted to close the post-professional Master of Science in Physical Therapy program. Current students enrolled in the Class of 2017 are in the program’s last cohort; applications are no longer being accepted.
The Board made the decision after careful consideration of several factors, including a steady decline in applications over the past few years and employment prospects for graduates.
The MS in Physical Therapy holds a special place at the Institute, as it was one of the school’s first degree programs. Since its inception, close to 400 students have graduated from the program, and are among the more than 5,900 people who have completed their education at the Institute. The program was converted to a post-professional program for international students in 2008, after the Doctor of Physical Therapy became the preferred professional degree.
