Kim Schoessow, OTD, OTR/L, SCLV, is Assistant Professor of Occupational Therapy in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. Her clinical background is in low vision rehabilitation, focusing on home-based interventions for older adults with vision impairments. She earned a Specialty Certification in Low Vision (SCLV) from the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA).

Her clinical positions have been at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in Boston and the Frank Stein and Paul S. May Center for Low Vision Rehabilitation in San Francisco.

Dr. Schoessow taught in the Occupational Therapy Program at Dominican University in California and held an appointment as an Instructor in Ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School. She also worked as a Research Health Science Specialist in the Vision Rehabilitation Research Lab at the VA in Palo Alto, California.

Dr. Schoessow has presented and been published at both the national and international level. She has taken an active role in leadership of professional organizations, serving as the National President of Pi Theta Epsilon (the occupational therapy honor society) and as a member of the board of directors of the American Occupational Therapy Foundation (AOTF). She was awarded the AOTF Leadership Service Commendation.

Dr. Schoessow teaches many courses within the Occupational Therapy Program including Foundations, Communication, Health Promotion, and a Low Vision elective. She also has an adjunct faculty appointment at Manipal Academy of Higher Education in Manipal, India, where she has conducted low vision workshops for OT students, faculty, and practitioners.
