As a Clinical Nurse Specialist and Holistic Nurse, Joanne Rowley is a clinical provider for the MGH Wellness Center in Revere a service of the Benson Henry Institute. At the Wellness Center, she facilitates Mind-Body Specialty groups for anxiety /depression, pain, sleep and smoking cessation and Mindful Movement Yoga and Tai Chi programs. She is on the faculty of the interprofessional Mind Body Health and Healing Certificate program in the School of Nursing at the MGH Institute.

Involved in the application and integration of holistic approaches for wellness within diverse clinical settings since 1984, Joanne has presented at national and regional conferences.

Joanne earned her MS degree in Nursing from Pace University, New York with postgraduate training at McLean Hospital, and her BA in Sociology from Hiram College, Ohio. Her particular interest in the field of spirituality  and contemplative practices has been informed by trainings in Spiritual Psychology, Interfaith Chaplaincy, and Spiritual Direction.

She has been teaching yoga since 1989, with a 500 hour level Kripalu certification. She is also cross trained in numerous somatic modalities, hypnotherapy and as a Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction instructor. 

Interested in the development and mentoring of health care professionals she serves as a faculty team member for the Mind Body Spirit Nursing program at the MGH Institute as well as a professional advisor for the Independent Studies Masters Program at Lesley University.
