Doctoral Student

What year did you start the program? 2023

What are your prior degrees and with what institutions?
BS, Neuroscience, Brown University, Providence, RI
MS, Applied Anatomy and Physiology, Boston University
DPT, MGH Institute of Health Professions

What is your current research setting?
Healey & AMG Center for ALS at Massachusetts General Hospital
Mentor: Dr. Sabrina Paganoni

What is your current research focused on?
I am interested in assistive devices to help improve function and quality of life in people living with ALS, and to decrease overall caregiver burden. I am also interested in the development of novel outcome measures to track disease progression in ALS - including digital and remote data collection - for implementation in clinical trials.

Why did you choose to come to this program rather than a doctoral research program in your specific profession?
I like that the PhD in RS program is interdisciplinary. I am working in the ALS clinic where we have a multidisciplinary team, and this is absolutely necessary to meet the needs of each of our patients. Our research needs to reflect this team approach.
