
Gwyneth M. Eliasson is an Assistant Professor and the Health Policy Certificate Program Coordinator in the Department of Health Behavior, Society, and Policy at Rutgers School of Public Health. For over a decade, she practiced law in New York City. As a social justice attorney, she advocated for low-income clients navigating the healthcare system, and represented them in both administrative proceedings and federal courts. She is admitted to the bar in New York State, the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and the Eastern Districts of New York, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
As a public health practitioner, she managed CDC-contracted legal projects with the Center for Public Health Law Research at Temple University Beasley School of Law and consulted for Rutgers School of Law on grant-funded projects to develop a medical-legal partnership (MLP) program in Camden, New Jersey. She contributed a case study – a practice example on MLPs for older adults – to HEALTHY AGING THROUGH THE SOCIAL DETERMINANTS OF HEALTH (APHA Press, 2021).
Her JD is from Brooklyn Law School and her MPH (Health Systems and Policy concentration) is from Rutgers School of Public Health.
