Carissa is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and has been working as a Physical Therapist since 2008. She has experience in long-term acute care (LTAC), acute care, skilled nursing facility, school-based, outpatient, and home care settings. She has worked with a vast variety of patient populations and pathologies, in addition to significant experience collaborating with various other healthcare disciplines. During her clinical work, she was also involved in clinical education for Physical Therapy students. Carissa has been involved with both Anatomy and Physiology 1 and 2 with MGH IHP since 2014. Carissa received her DPT from Simmons College in 2008. In addition, she has a Masters Degree in Applied Anatomy and Physiology from Boston University and experience teaching in Gross Human Anatomy labs at Simmons College.
