Computer: You need access to a computer capable of running current software and web browsers. Anything that was new in the past three years should be fine. As a general guideline, your computer must be running Windows 10 Pro or Mac OSX 10.10 & Higher.

Some instructors send supplementary materials to their students on CD-ROM. Be sure to check with your instructor for additional hardware and software requirements, if any, specific to your course.

Additional Software or Plug-ins: Depending on your course and instructor, you may have to purchase software (e.g., the SPSS statistics package for a statistics course). Also, many instructors post lecture materials online in various file formats (typically PowerPoint, Word or PDF files). To open these files, you will need the appropriate software or software viewer plug-in. We recommend purchasing Microsoft Office 2007 or higher, available through most software retailers at an academic rate of ~$200. However, you can also download the free MS Word and PowerPoint viewers from Microsoft. Also recommended is the free Adobe Acrobat PDF viewer.

MGH Institute of Health Professions designates this activity for 10.0 contact hours for nurses. The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB) accepts credit from organizations accredited by the ACCME and ANCC.

 

MGH Institute of Health Professions has been authorized by the American Academy of PAs (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME credit for activities planned in accordance with AAPA CME Criteria. This course serves as excellent preparation for the Certified Case Manager (CCM) Exam offered by the Commission of Case Manager Certification (CCMC), or the Nursing Case Management Board Certification Exam (RN-BC) offered by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) by providing key foundational case management concepts with interactive assessments to apply and test that knowledge. Please note it does not guarantee eligibility for the exams and subsequent certification.
