Health History and CPR Certification Requirement

Requirements

Students in the following programs must provide evidence of the following requirements before matriculation and maintain compliance throughout their time as students at the Institute:

School of Nursing (all programs), Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology (MS-SLP), Master of Science in Genetic Counseling (MS-GC), Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD), Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS).

Note: These requirements are based on the CDC guidelines for health care personnel.

Tuberculosis (TB) Skin Test

Annual

  • Evidence of a negative test annually.
  • If test is positive, a chest X-Ray is required every 5 years, and a TB symptom free note is required annually.
 

Seasonal Flu Shot

Annual

  • Due by October 12th*
  • Flu vaccine must be for the current flu season.
  • Vaccines received for prior year's flu season will not be accepted. Be sure to ask you provider if the vaccine you are receiving is for the current flu season.

*Exception for incoming students matriculating in May or June: This requirement is optional for you until the following flu season. You must comply with this requirement starting in the fall semester.

 

Physical Exam

Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR

  • American Red Cross– BLS for Health Care Providers
  • American Heart Association– BLS for Healthcare Providers

 

Every 2 Years

No other courses accepted for this requirement.

Tdap

Every 10 Years

  • Evidence of a Tdap shot once
  • 10 years after that, a Tetanus or Td booster is required.

 

Hepatitis B

 

  • Evidence of three doses or positive titer.
  • If your titer is not immune or equivocal, you must submit evidence of a Hepatitis B booster.

 

MMR

 

  • Evidence of two doses or positive titer results for Measles, Mumps and Rubella.
  • If any titer is not immune or equivocal, you must submit evidence of an MMR booster.

 

Varicella

 

  • Evidence of two doses OR primary care provider verification of the disease (month/year) or positive titer results.
  • If your titer is not immune or equivocal, you must submit evidence of a Varicella booster.

 

Students in the following programs must provide evidence of the following requirements before matriculation and maintain compliance throughout their time as students at the Institute:
PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences.

Submitting Your Health History Information.

Complio is an online tracking system, selected by the MGH Institute of Health Professions (Institute), to host details and documentation proving your compliance with immunizations and other health history requirements. Follow these step-by-step instructions to create an account and move towards compliance.

Create Your Account

Step 1: Create an account by going to www.mghihpcompliance.com. Click Create an Account to get started. 

Note: Use your Institute email when creating your account.

Step 2: Complio will send an email to your Institute email account. Click on the Activation Link within the message or copy and paste the URL in your web browser.

Subscribe

Step 3: Your Complio Account is created. Now it is time to order a subscription for your academic program. Click Get Started to begin your order.  Carefully enter the information required to complete your order. Please read the Disclaimer on the next screen, sign, and click Accept & Proceed to continue.

Note: If you are unsure of the subscription you need to order, please contact the Institute’s Office of Compliance at StudentCompliance@MGHIHP.edu

Add Documents and Details

Step 4: Click Upload Documents at the top of the screen and use the Browse button to locate documents within your computer.

Tip: Select all your Immunization and Certification documents to upload at once. You can then assign specific documents to each requirement in the next step.

Step 5: Back on the main page, select Enter Requirement next to each category to complete the required fields and select from the drop-down list of documents you’ve uploaded.  Click Submit to save what you’ve entered.  You can Update the item at any time before it is approved.

Note: There may be multiple options, but you may not need to complete them all.  Refer to the Note for explanation of options.

Wait for Approval

At this time, the requirement is pending review and approval by an Administrator. American DataBank verifies items within 1-3 business day (excluding holidays and weekend).

Monitor Your Status

We recommend checking Complio regularly. You are not fully compliant until your Overall Compliance Status = Compliant, indicated with a Green Checkmark.  Complio will notify you via email when your compliance status changes, if an item is approaching expiration, or if a new requirement is added.
