Fun with the Aphasia Center
Members have fun and socialize at special events and end-of-semesters parties or outings. See some of our most recent adventures:
Bowling at Lucky Strike: August 2018
Aphasia Center members, their friends and family, and students and faculty enjoyed an evening of bowling at the Lucky Strike Bowling Center at Assembly Square in Somerville.
Halloween Movie Night: October 2018
For Halloween, Arsenic and Old Lace featuring Cary Grant was shown. Occupational Therapy (OT) clients and students prepared spooky snacks and OT and Aphasia Center clients were invited and welcomed to watch. It was held in the Tabor/Connor Family Occupational Therapy Center for Learning, Participation, and Rehabilitation at the IMPACT Practice Center on the MGH Institute campus in Charlestown. SLP students led a pre-viewing and post-viewing aphasia-friendly discussion.
Winter Holiday Party: December 2018
Aphasia Center members, their friends and family, and students and faculty enjoyed a catered lunch, a musical performance by the MGH IHP Musicians, a photo booth and games such as Pin the Carrot on the Snowman, all designed by one of our Aphasia Center members!
