Danielle Azzariti is a certified and licensed genetic counselor. She graduated from the Brandeis University Genetic Counseling Program in 2009 and has been working in the Boston area since. She started her career as a clinical genetic counselor and research coordinator for the Massachusetts General Hospital Neurogenetics Program, with a focus on lysosomal storage disorders. During this time she coordinated several clinical trials and natural history studies for Fabry Disease, Gaucher Disease, Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis, Norrie Disease and Pompe Disease. In 2013, she moved to the Laboratory for Molecular Medicine at Partners HealthCare Personalized Medicine as a research coordinator for two National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) funded research projects, the whole genome sequencing efforts of The MedSeq Project (U01 HG006500) and supporting the development of a curated genomic knowledge base through the Clinical Genome Resource (ClinGen) (U41 HG006834). In her current role, she is a senior project manager at the Broad Institute, continuing her work on ClinGen as well as managing Matchmaker Exchange, an international federated network of genomic matchmaking services for novel gene-disease discovery.
