Communication Sciences and Disorders: Faculty Overview

Nationally Recognized

Faculty members in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders are nationally recognized leaders and scholars in speech-language pathology and audiology.


Honors and Awards

Their ranks include the department heads of a number of Boston's most respected hospitals. Seven have been named Fellows and three received Honors of the Association by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). One has received the Margaret Byrd Rawson Award from the International Dyslexia Association.


Active in both Clinical Practice and Research

Most of the department’s faculty is actively engaged in clinical practice and research. This expertise gives students access to the innovative thinking and professional and ethical standards that will define tomorrow’s practices. Faculty use their own real-world cases as teaching examples, integrating the profession’s most current and relevant practices into their instruction.
