Commencement 2021

-October 28, 2020-

Dear IHP Community,

Over the past month, our students have been asking Institute leadership about plans for the 2021 Commencement Ceremony. After lengthy discussions about the possibility of holding an in-person event, we have decided that, for the health and well-being of our graduates, their families and loved ones, and the IHP community, holding a large public gathering is not wise given the current state of the pandemic and the unknown future course of the virus. We have therefore made the decision to hold a Virtual Commencement Ceremony on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. We hope that by making this decision now, your families can plan for your Commencement celebration.

We know that many of you will be disappointed by this decision. We know how much you were looking forward to an in-person Commencement and know this is a difficult message to receive. I am disappointed as well, but your safety and the safety of our community is our top priority. By living our Vision and Core Values, we as a community serve as an example of leadership and informed decision-making during these difficult times.

The Virtual Commencement Ceremony will start at 2:00 p.m., followed by a Virtual Cocktail Party at 4:00 p.m. Your Commencement Team is already hard at work to make this a special event for graduates, their families, and their loved ones. Your Commencement Team will be reaching out to 2021 graduates with more detailed information in the coming days. Given the amazing event that the Commencement Team created this past August, we know that your 2021 Commencement Ceremony will be equally memorable and enjoyable.

So, mark your calendar for Sunday, August 29, 2021!
