Clinical Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing
The MGH Institute is the only degree-granting affiliate of Partners HealthCare, New England’s largest health network. As such, BSN students have unparalleled access to Harvard Medical School teaching hospitals: Brigham and Woman’s, Massachusetts General, and Spaulding Rehabilitation, along with Boston Children’s Hospital, Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, and more than 300 other locations.
Students receive priority clinical rotation placements within the first few weeks of their education—experiences that have often resulted in job offers after graduation. In some instances students may need a car to access clinical placements.
The School of Nursing’s focus on experiential learning, in addition to the Institute’s innovative IMPACT Practice interprofessional education curriculum, facilitates critical thinking, communication skills, ethical reasoning, and team-based problem-solving. Participating in these and other learning opportunities produces graduates who are better prepared for fieldwork training and can deliver care with increased confidence.
