Financial Aid Options for Online Prerequisites for the Health Professions

Financial Aid is available only for the Summer Science Online Prerequisites Session.

Eligibility Requirement: Students must be accepted into either the Direct-Entry Nursing or MS in Speech-Language Pathology program, and will begin an MGH Institute program of study in the fall semester. If you plan on applying for financial aid, please complete our online registration form so that you will not need to pay for classes until your aid is processed. Otherwise, the online registration process requires payment in full at the time of registration.

How to Apply:

Deadline: 10 business days prior to semester’s start.

In order to have tuition payments deferred until your aid is complete, please complete the three steps below:

Financial Aid Options

Federal Direct Subsidized/Unsubsidized Loan

Students must be registered for at least 6 credits. (Online Prerequisites students are considered 5th-year undergraduate students and may borrow up to $12,500 if Independent Students according to the FAFSA Requirements.)

Students considered to be Dependent Students may borrow up to $7,500.

Complete the required steps at Federal Direct Subsidized/Unsubsidized Loans  upon receiving your award letter. The MGH Institute will receive loan funds approximately a week after you complete the MPN and entrance counseling. Loans will first be applied to tuition and fees. Any overages will be directly deposited into the bank account the student has listed in I Online.

Private Alternative Education Loans
Students may borrow an alternative education loan to help offset the cost of the Online Prerequisites Session. Students may borrow an alternative loan with/rather than a Federal Direct Subsidized/Unsubsidized Loan. Be sure to review the terms and conditions of each prior to choosing an alternative loan!

MGH Institute will accept and process alternative loans through any lender.  For comparison and application, see Alternative Loans.
