Addictions Certificate For Health Care Professionals

Given a nationwide epidemic of addiction involving dramatic overdose death rates and other adverse health effects, all healthcare providers should be prepared to encounter and care for patients and families affected by addiction. In order to do this, specialized knowledge and skills related to substance use disorders and addictions – beyond those learned in core health professions curricula – are needed. We are committed to delivering this knowledge and these skills through our Addictions Certificate.

Students in this program will learn how to use evidence-based information related to addiction to offer patients compassionate and holistic care. Students will become prepared to integrate behavioral health with traditional medical care. The program includes an independent study that empowers students to learn more about a specific area of interest.
