OTD '18 Student Advanced Doctoral Experiences

The Advanced Doctoral Experience (ADE) is an in-depth, full-time (14-weeks/560 hours minimum) experience in one or more of the following faculty-selected areas: clinical practice, research, leadership, program and policy development, advocacy, education, and theory development. Evaluation of individualized objectives occurs under the supervision of a mentor with expertise in one of the above areas. 

Students work with assigned mentors on- or off-site, interact with leaders, organizations, and populations to address the occupational needs of persons with or at risk of developing chronic disease or disability, relate theory and current evidence to practice demonstrate competence in evaluation, assessment, analysis and/or research procedures used at the site, and function as scholars to advance the practice of occupational therapy through the dissemination of work.
