The RN to DNP program can be completed in 8-10 semesters (four years), depending on your previous educational preparation and the specialty you choose. The first four semesters are taught on-campus and culminate in a Master of Science in Nursing and eligibility for national certification in an advanced practice specialty for nurse practitioners.

The last four semesters are taught online using a case study model, with some scheduled times you can be online together as well as two weekend intensive sessions at our Boston campus each semester.  This schedule will give you the flexibility to study on your own time and work concurrently as a nurse practitioner.

Program Goals

Upon completion of the RN to DNP program, you will be prepared to take the advanced practice certification exam for your chosen specialty. You will hone critical thinking, diagnostic reasoning, assessment and decision-making skills, preparing you to be a highly skilled and reflective nurse leader. Strengthening your competencies and developing a focus on nursing leadership, will empower you within complex systems of care for an increasingly diverse patient population.
