Why do I need Windows 10 Pro?

Windows 8 or 10 home,  is not compatible with our current encryption software.  However, laptops running Windows 10 Pro can be encrypted using BitLocker, Microsoft’s encryption software.  The activation of BitLocker will need to be administered by the Office of Information Technology, to ensure policy compliance.

All OS X versions of 10.10 and higher have a built in encryption that will simply need to be activated.  This activation will need to be administered by the Office of Information Technology, to ensure policy compliance.
