As a graduate school focused exclusively on health professions, and as a member of Mass General Brigham, the premier health provider in New England, the MGH Institute is uniquely positioned to understand the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on your educational plans. We are committed to your safety and well being, as well as to providing you with the best possible education both in the classroom and in the clinical setting. With this in mind, the Institute has made the decision to conduct all summer 2020 classes in an online format. Your orientation will also be conducted in a virtual environment, the week prior to the start of classes. Program-specific information and resources will be sent via email to all incoming students from program leadership and staff. Moving to an online format allows you to move forward right away with minimal disruption to your graduate education.
Faculty have been working closely with our clinical partners and the entire Institute community to create a plan for the upcoming fall semester, beginning September 8. We plan to begin some on-campus course activities and will create a flexible schedule, allowing us to take advantage of as many clinical opportunities as possible during the fall, to help make up for lost clinical time that has occurred since mid-March.
Right now, we are planning on didactic instruction to continue in virtual format. This didactic work will be supplemented with on-campus, small-group skills development and practical exam learning activities. We will schedule these sessions consistent with the latest state guidelines on group gatherings, as well as the latest health guidance from Mass General Brigham, including self-attestation, mask wearing, and enhanced space-cleaning protocols.
We are ready to fully support you and to ensure your success during your first semester and your subsequent time on campus.
All of the departments in Enrollment Services, including admissions, financial aid, registrar, and bursar are here for you. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Institute community!
