Meet Medical Imaging AlumniAs a brand new program, the first cohort of medical imaging students graduated from the MGH Institute in the Spring of 2006. Erin E. Cronin RT(R) '06 Brigham & Women's Hospital, Boston, MA In February 2006, Erin Cronin completed the Institute's medical imaging program. Her class was the first to graduate from the program. She received a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Medical Imaging, and was the first to receive the Academic Excellence Award. She now works as a radiologic technologist at Brigham & Women's Hospital as well as weekend per diem work at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. Cronin's primary interests include performing x-rays in the operating rooms while orthopedic surgeries are in progress, doing portable x-rays in patient rooms, and taking x-rays of NICU babies. She says what she enjoys most about her job is that no two days and no two patients are alike. Cronin hopes to get into CT, mammography or possibly education in the future. She's a member of the Massachusetts Society of Radiologic Technologists. Kimberley Russell RT(R) ‘06 Massachusetts General Hospital, Yawkey Center for Outpatient Care, Boston, MA Kimberley Russell received a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Medical Imaging in February 2006, and was the first recipient of the program’s Clinical Award for Excellence. She currently works as a radiologic technologist at The Yawkey Center for Outpatient Care at Massachusetts General Hospital. Russell works primarily with orthopedic patients and occasionally gets the opportunity to care for some of Boston's professional athletes. Russell says what she enjoys most about working at The Yawkey Center, is that she is able to see different views of x-rays, has direct patient contact each day, and feels she is really making a difference in patients lives as a skilled and compassionate health care professional. |
