Hanson Initiative: Programs, Services and ResourcesHILL faculty is deeply committed to working collaboratively with the educational community to improve the reading and writing ability of students. HILL faculty and staff provide prescriptive training that is focused on the literacy needs of an individual district or school's students. The HILL believes that students' literacy skills will improve if teachers are trained in research-based strategies. Providing teachers with the necessary tools to improve literacy skills requires schools to engage in strategic planning to design and implement quality professional development. Leaders in a partner school or district must be committed, determined, and relentless in improving the literacy skills of its students, and sustaining that change throughout the school and district. |
