Medical Imaging Admissions Requirements

In addition to the Basic Admissions Requirements, the following program-specific requirements must be met:

Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Medical Imaging

Prerequisite Coursework:

Applicants are required to complete the following prerequisite courses. It is strongly recommended that all prerequisite courses be completed with a grade of B or better:

• College Level Human Anatomy and Physiology (6-8 credits)*
• College Level Algebra or Pre-Calculus (3-4 credits)
• College Level Physics or Chemistry (3-4 credits)*
• Medical Terminology (1 credit, required for students with no previous health care background) – available through the MGH Institute.
• Computer Literacy Course (3 credits, or equivalent knowledge of computer hardware and Windows applications)
  * Students may take courses marked with an asterisk at the MGH Institute of Health Professions as part of Science Summer prior to Fall matriculation.  All prerequisite courses must be satisfactorily completed prior tto matriculation.

Tests:

GRE scores are not required for admission to the Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Medical Imaging

Interviews: 

 A personal interview is required for those being considered for admission. Interviews are by invitation only.

• Completed Job Shadow Experience Form  (preferably completed prior to application deadline)
• Completed Prerequisite Checklist

Residency Requirement:

Because a significant portion of the curriculum is taught online, international students seeking an F-1 visa through the MGH Institute of Health Professions are not eligible to apply for this program. International students not seeking an F-1 visa through the Institute are eligible to apply and should contact the Manager of Graduate Admissions in the Office of Student Affairs early in the application process.
