Important change for all applicants to the Entry-Level Doctor of Physical Therapy Program

New for the 2009 admission cycle:

  • The Entry-Level Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program at the MGH Institute of Health Professions will be participating in the new Physical Therapist Centralized Application Service (PTCAS). All applicants to the 2009 entry-level DPT program should apply online at www.ptcas.org  
  • Applicants are invited to submit the application any time between August 1, 2008 - December 1, 2008. Application review will begin after the December 1, 2008 deadline.  
  • Invitations for the on-site interview will be sent to qualified applicants between mid-December and mid-January. Interviews are by invitation only.
     
  • Applications received after December 1, 2008 may be reviewed at the discretion of the faculty, and only if seats remain available.

Information About Applying

  • The Admissions Office will communicate with applicants via email if any supporting documentation (e.g. letter of recommendation or official transcript) is missing. We will also notify all applicants by email once the application file is complete. 
  • The online application process may be completed  in one or more login sessions, and allows for easy uploading of certain requested documents, such as the personal essay and/or the resume (document should be uploaded in Microsoft Word format).
  • The official mode of communication during the application process is through email. Please be sure to provide a valid email address, check it regularly, and  ensure that email from the @mghihp.edu domain is added to your "safe" list to avoid junk email filters.

Reactivating Prior Applications

Admissions applications remain on file for one year to allow for reapplication the following year. Applicants who reapply must request reactivation of their application to the Admissions office in writing, as well as submit transcripts covering any academic work undertaken since the time of last application (by the program deadline). Applicants for programs with rolling admissions do not have to submit another application fee if the application is reactivated within one year.
