The Doctor of Physical Therapy program participates in the Physical Therapist Centralized Application Service (PTCAS). All students are required to apply online through PTCAS.
You may submit an application for admission to PTCAS anytime between August 1, 2010, and November 15, 2010.

Prerequisites
Degree
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Prerequisite Courses
Completion of the following prerequisite courses with a grade of C or better is required for admission:
- Anatomy (1 semester, with lab) Human anatomy recommended, vertebrate or comparative anatomy accepted
- Human Physiology (1 semester) May take one year of combined Anatomy-Physiology course to meet the anatomy and physiology requirements
- Biology (1 semester, with lab)
- Exercise Physiology
- Chemistry (2 semesters, with lab)
- Physics (2 semesters, with lab)
- Developmental or Child Psychology (1 course)
- Abnormal or General Psychology (1 course)
- Statistics (including inferential statistics)
Applicants may have up to two prerequisite courses in progress the spring semester prior to matriculation.
Some prerequisite courses can be taken at MGH Institute as part of Science Prerequisites for the Health Care Professions.
Applicants may be asked to submit mid-term reports for certain prerequisite courses. All prerequisite courses must be satisfactorily completed prior to matriculation. Prerequisite credit cannot be given for courses with a grade of Pass/Fail.
Requests for prerequisite evaluations will be addressed in writing only.
Applicants who are currently in the process of completing prerequisite courses are still encouraged to apply.
Applicants are required to download and print the DPT Prerequisite Checklist and submit it directly to MGH Institute of Health Professions, not PTCAS.
Standardized Tests
GRE
The General Test is required for admission and must have been taken within 5 years of application. An official score report should be sent directly to MGH Institute from ETS (www.ets.org). The Institution code for MGH Institute of Health Professions is R3513.
TOEFL
Applicants whose native language is not English and/or who did not receive a baccalaureate degree from a college or university whose language of instruction is English are required to take the TOEFL examination. The test must have been taken within two years of application, with a minimum score of 80 (internet-based test). Official score report should be sent directly to the Institute from ETS (www.ets.org). Official Transcripts

Applicants who did not receive an undergraduate degree in the United States must have their degree transcript evaluated by an educational credentialing agency to ensure equivalency to a U.S. baccalaureate degree.* When requesting a transcript evaluation, please request a "course-by-course" evaluation with grades. Acceptable credentialing agencies are listed on our website. We will also accept evaluation reports from any U.S. evaluation service that is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). Information on NACES can be found at www.naces.org. Please see the International Students section of our website for additional information.
* Specific foreign institutions may be exempt from this requirement in select circumstances. Please contact the Office of Admission for additional information.

Interview
Invitations for interviews will be sent to qualified applicants between mid-December to mid-January. Interviews will be scheduled on Fridays and Saturdays in late January/early February at our campus in the Charlestown Navy Yard.
International Applicants
Please note: The Doctor of Physical Therapy degree is for students interested in attaining an Entry-Level DPT degree. If you are a foreign-trained physical therapist (physiotherapist) looking for an advanced degree, you should apply to our Master of Science in Physical Therapy program.
Notification of Admission Decisions
Admission review will not begin until after the application deadline. Applications received after the deadline may be reviewed at the discretion of the faculty, and only if seats remain available.
