About the Program

The MGH Institute program will immerse you in competent and compassionate patient-centered care in interprofessional teams. Our student-centered curriculum will prepare you to integrate high-quality prevention and patient education with the ability to diagnose and treat a wide range of acute and chronic conditions. Learn more about the curriculum and clerkships.

With a bachelor's degree in any field and at least 1,000 hours of direct patient care, you can soon be on your way to joining one of the country's fastest-growing and dynamic health care professions. The first class starts in May 2015.

Full-time students will complete the year-round program in six semesters. Upon completion, you will have the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue a career as a Physician Assistant and provide hands-on health care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Upon completing the program, graduates will be eligible to take the Physician Assistant National Certifying Exam (PANCE) to become a licensed physician assistant.

Application deadline is August 1, 2015, for a May 2016 start. Apply through the Centralized Application Service for Physician Assistant Education (CASPA). See the application process for prerequisites and other admission requirements.
