On Wednesday, November 6, MGH Institute of Health Professions hosted its 7th annual fundraising gala at the Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel. This year’s gala, Transforming Lives: Education that Serves, highlighted our clinical centers, located on the MGH Institute campus in the Charlestown Navy Yard.
Each year the Physical Therapy Center for Clinical Education and Health Promotion and the Speech, Language and Literacy Center provide more than $1M in pro bono services for hundreds of children and adults with learning, speech and physical disabilities, while also serving as clinical training sites for our students.
This year we honored John M. Connors III, Honorary Trustee and co-founder of the Boathouse Group, Inc. For twelve years Mr. Connors served as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Institute. His vision, leadership, and support helped us achieve our mission to prepare graduates to become exemplary leaders in health care delivery.
The 2013 Gala raised over $390,000. Proceeds from the gala will provide scholarship support for students, especially those of limited means, enabling them to fulfill their dreams of attending the MGH Institute to become health care leaders in their fields.
